Psychedelic Communitas: Intersubjective Experience During Psychedelic Group Sessions Predicts Enduring Changes in Psychological Wellbeing and Social Connectedness
Adjacent
A prospective survey linked a stronger sense of togetherness during psychedelic ceremonies with later gains in reported wellbeing and social connection.
What it doesn’t show
Participants had already chosen a ceremony or retreat, and all measures were their own reports. Only 399 of 886 respondents contributed at four weeks, with fewer in the complete-data model. Without assigned conditions, drug effects, expectations and group setting cannot be separated or given causal credit.
